The Yahia family went through the succession process together. Below is their video interview, followed by what two of the brothers shared about the experience.

Manager, 2nd Generation
We started this process because, as a family, we felt we needed a better way of working together. I knew the future of the business would depend largely on what my brother and I would build, but we didn’t have a clear picture of what each of us wanted or how we saw the future of the family and the business.
Along the way we had many realizations and discovered important things about one another. We began without really knowing what the other family members were thinking, and we finished the process far more aligned than we had imagined.
I appreciated that the process was built step by step. We started in a small group, and the other family members were then gradually brought in. I believe it was exactly this approach that made everything unfold naturally and be easily accepted by everyone. I was genuinely surprised by how quickly they were open to taking part, and by the fact that we were, in reality, already much more aligned than we thought.

Manager, 2nd Generation
I went into this process without knowing exactly what to expect. Looking back, I think one of the most valuable things was that I came to know my family better and to understand how each of us thinks.
It was a very pleasant experience, with interesting exercises that made me reflect a great deal, even after the meetings. I liked that everything we discussed applied not only to the business, but connected naturally to family relationships, and even to the way you look at life in general. The process challenges you to think differently and to be more open to perspectives you might not have considered before.
Everything was very clear and well structured, and in many moments time passed without you noticing. At the end of each meeting I felt I would have wanted to keep going.
If I were to give advice to other families, I would simply tell them to trust the process and take the first step. You don’t fully understand how useful it is before you begin — you discover it along the way.
